Course Description

US History begins with an examination of the cultures which were impacted by the exploration and colonization of the America's. We then focus on North America regionally as a it became the locus of European colonization by the English, Spanish, French, and other nations. In this context the continued struggle for survival, soveriegnty, and cultural identity of Native Americans is a major theme throughout all quarters.
  We will study the establishment of the United States of America from it's colonial roots through revolution, it's organization under the Constitution, expansion and developement as a military and economic super power.
